Default Really, all this "racist" stuff is getting ridiculous.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070409/.../imus_protests

    "Nappy-headed hos."
    Nappy. Headed. Hos.

How in the world is that racist!?! Everyone can be nappy, have heads, and be ho's. All he said was that they had messed up hair, my hair is nappy sometimes too(note: nappy does not just mean "frizzy," it can also mean unruly, spikey). This was starting to get ridiculous a decade ago, now it is just stupid. You can't say anything, it seems, without it being racist. I can't think of any other way to describe it, just plain stupid. And anyone that makes such a ludicrous claim is the same. How in the world can you get fired for that, when Howard Stern is parading pornstars on his radio show?!?

    For the record:
Stealdragon, you are a nappy-headed ho.
    As are you, MojoMunkeez.
    And you, Aikido.
    And you as well, Saizou.

I read this in the news earlier today, I won't call it racist but its damn sure very fucking inappropriate and relatively insulting (insulting personal hygiene and levels of sexual promiscuity anyways). But hey, if you think before you speak then what you say wont be so stupid Jakko. If he'd'a thought before he spoke itd be quite simple to see how someone could have taken that the wrong way.

Howard Stern gets away with it because the public expects less of him morally than they do of other radio show hosts... remember Opie and Anthony?

Meanwhile you just have to endure the fact that Al Sharpton is a sensationalist ass who will protest anything and blow silly shit out of fucking proportion. Id be insulted and demand an apology as well, but protesting... ive got better things to do than walk around screaming and cry about what some asshole said.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

Well, heck yeah, I find that offensive. Since when is it alright to characterize girls as "thugs," and call them "ho's." In all honesty, for calling them "ho's," he should get the crap beaten out of him.

What he said was insulting, I am not arguing that. However, my point is that it is not racist. And, though what he said was not racist, it is being labeled as such. And, worse than that, the broadcasting companies are going along with that idea, agreeing with it. My point is that this is an adults society. People will say things that are insulting or wrong, and we have to live with it. However, we have no right to claim that something is "racist," or "bigoted," or "homophobic," or whatever your pet outrage is, whenever something is said that angers you. That is not a right, to throw around a horrible accusation for the sake of publicity, personal gain, or just petty dislike. And, I am afraid to say, our society has forgotten that. It is trivialized, made to be the "catch phrase," the attention-grabber, the sound-bite of the day. It has been marginalized, joked about, exploited, and, ultimately, watered down of its true meaning, and from its true use.

It has, you could say, made racism trendy. And that makes me, and should make any man who wants to stay upright in this crooked world, weep.

I agree, its not racist, I'm waiting for him to sue for slander.

God damn it, I made burgers today. but I put way too much garlic powder in and I can still taste it really strongly. That was six and half hours ago.

Oh man, you're an anti-nordic racist. I suspected it all along. (Wait, is that even possible?)

And back on-topic, it is the modus operandi of the NAACP to cry wolf at the slightest hint of whatever they feel is racist. In fact, I would argue that the NAACP has shown itself to be racist on several occasions.

All of it is quite sad, since racism is a real problem in several parts of america, and the antics of the NAACP are just making the situation worse by alienating people.

Yeah, I also agree it's not particularly racist, but it is damn offensive.

But then, I don't even know what the hell nappy-headed means. I assumed it meant, you know, like an Arab with a turban. We call nappies what you Americans call diapers. And if THAT had have been what he was talking about, then THAT would have been offensive

We call something "nappy" like what your hair looks like after you take off a baseball cap you have been wearing for a few hours, or if you took a shower right before you went to sleep, and your hair was still wet. You know, it is unruly, all over the place.

Apparently, it can also mean "frizzy." And apparently, according to Al Sharpton, only black people have frizzy hair, meaning that this must be racist.
