I don't know how this'll work, if putting up their kids for adoption is enough to deter them from having the baby in the first place, how the hell is this going to help?

I dunno my friend was abandoned and now he does not have any pride in his own country. Personally I do not have a big pride in my country, but if some one trash talks it I get pissed >:I.

Well, as bad as it seems, I think thats its better than just leaving babies to die. Although, I still think that if you got preggers when you didn't want to, its still your fault.

Knowing how erotic Japanese people (NOT stereo typing) maybe it wouldn't be like this. I would understand China's situation, but this is just retarded.

I think it is good to have those hatches. It is certainly better to have some babies free for adoption instead of having them die somewhere in a park or somewhere else, where nobody finds them.

And even in countries where you already have those hatches the mentality didnt evolve into: "Hey I'm pregnant, but that doesn't matter, since I can drop it into a hatch anyway". So no worries. It should be fine.
