DUDES STFU!!!! This is even more useless than that fucking E-10 rating. And since the MPAA is an independent body who gives a shit what they say, damnit i cant wait to flip the bird to the first dickhead who cards me at the theatre!.

In all seriousness what do they think this will achieve. I lost what little respect I had for them when they rated This Film Is Not Yet Rated NC-17, it was the ultimate bitch move in order to keep information out of public hands and all hell knows the last thing this damn country needs is LESS information about whos fucking with what we see and dont see.

That's funny. Even so what's to stop people from sneaking from theater to theater? Blame movie theaters before you blame the people who make the movies.

But seriously, I think another rating isn't the answer. Telling people why the film received its rating, that's what needs to happen. They're on the right track, though.

The rate violence/gore, sex/nudity and profanity all out of 10.

EXAMPLE:
300:
6-sex and nudity
9-violence and gore
2-profanity

The fact that they exist backs up my point.

If the MPAA did this in the first place...well, I think it's obvious where I'm going with this.

I dun get whats so bad. Maybe becuz im not thinking too well today or something. All I got out of that was they want to seperate R rating into two categories, and get rid of NC-17.

hehe so true. I mean, we are forced to pay $9 for a movie ticket. So I just make sure my money was worth the spending. a.k.a. sneaking into the 2nd movie, or maybe even 3rd if I have no life.

Now that's a good idea... but you see, your back to the same problem we have now. How is that enforced? Add up the categories and if it scores over XX points you must be 15 to ride? That won't be much different from what we have now.

That's a tool for the few parents that actually wish to parent. That's the only way I can see it being used.

I like the ratings system we have in Australia, but it still all comes down to self moderation. If there's nudity, it says so. If there's violence, it says so... if you don't want to see it, don't watch it, if you don't want your kids to see it, bind them, gag them, and lock them in a closet until it fades from popularity. ^_^
