... I see someone introduce bamboozler to the great pit that is 4chan...
Anywho, the main problem is the DMCA, or more acurately, how much power it has.
And on that note, Ishman... we cue the music.

Looks like viacom has some in there. Check the posts where they talk about counter-claims. Interesting stuff. Possible to work, but opens your ass to a reaming by 50 corporate lawers if there's the slightest question. :S

Bah, it just seems like another stupid lawsuit for air time on tv to me.
Neilson box is sooooooooooooooo dumb. I mean, how can you really juge how well a show is doing with that thing. It really doesn't make sense to dervie ratings from it. And in the end it's kinda like if I don't have one of those am I really helping the shows I love by watching them. I'm mean honestly rating are just fictional numbers.

Great write-up. Kinda proves that Viacom is fishing here. They're hoping to get lucky with the new Grokster precedence that is set. Really, they're in the wrong. The DMCA states that they should be monitoring the infringements, and yet they are suing google for not monitoring the uploads to YouTube for them. It's pretty bullshit after you read this. XD

Thanks Vol, and here we see a big ass corporate company trying to muscle it's way though law making.
Indeed. Claiming that the DMCA doesn't do enough is just re-god-damn-dickulous. It's the single most fool-proof and simple way to take down something that's on the internet... even if it's something they just don't like. A parody making fun of their material they can pretty much just have ripped right off the web.
I'm pretty sure the Chinese are jealous of the DMCA... I'm so glad we have the EFF.
