Chinese or Japanese. Which would be more helpful for me?
I'm about to enter high school and portion of my friends told me I should take Chinese(cause I'm Chinese*more specifically Cantonese*) and another portion told me I should take Japanese (because of my anime/manga obsession/ and future desire to work as a video game director /scenario writer). Out of your experiences, which one would be much more useful for me? *now please don't get annoyed with my stupidity....I'm only one stupid guy.....*

take both, just for the heck of it. then after half a year, when you notice you're writing in japanese on your chinese tests, and forgetting all your hiraganas on your japanese tests, then you'll be forced to drop both subjects.

You don't have to learn Japanese to be a scenario writer or game director. I say, SPANISH! It's easy and stress free! I have to take 2 semesters of Spanish just because I didn't finish my 2 years of spanish in high school. blah.

Didn't we have another thread with the exact same question a couple months ago?

CHINESE, japan will be wiped out by the next umm 100 years ^^

Well... as someone studying computer game development and also studying Japanese as an extra subject I'd reccomend Japanese. Though I'm mainly learning japanese to play japanese games and to watch and read untranslated manga and anime. It being a help in my future career is just a nice bonus.

depends on where you live, some are more populated with others

I'd go with Chinese. It's more useful.
Spanish is better to learn, though.

If you're Chinese and don't know Chinese, you deserve to die.
