Thread: Racism

Personally this doesn't effect me in anyway. When I'm represented in paperwork, I'm just another white guy; but, those of Chinese descent, or assumed to be, get some of the most openly accepted racist treatment you can be exposed to on nation television today.

To kick a dead subject a little harder, had she gone for the super "jungle speech" when refering to someone of South African descent...There wouldn't be room in New York to fit all the protests.

So yeah, I do like seeing people jump on her, someone who's had to deal with adversity because of something she was born with, when she turns around and acts like any other loud-mouthed klan member waiting to happen.

While slightly heavy-handed (and understandably so, given the subject matter), I thought the video was done brilliantly. I agree with Terasiel--it's refreshing to see someone called on their actions like that directly, especially when it's done so eloquently.

I don't really know what he is making a speech about, since I never saw the event that led to this. But isn't he over reacting a tad-bit too much? What he said about her going "ching chong ching chong", that is just a minor racist joke. It is stupid, but not really serious.

i got bashed in a rasit attack but it wasnt because i was any race it because i was stading up for some one who was of difrent calture

I'd advise you not to say this because even though you may not think that you are... you are also probably racist and make racist comments. And even though you racism may not lead you to violence. I'm sure from time to time you will say something that is mildly racist and potentially very offending to someone.

Well.. it's not hard to figure out what he's referring to. Thanks to the beauty of youtube, the related videos are on the right side... so you could easily click them to figure out what Rosie said.

"ching chong ching chong" is a racial slur that's equivalent to using the word Nigger.

I don't see many people EVER stand up for Asian. That's why this guy is sooooooooooooo awesome!

I liked the video and how it was done. i give him props for standing up for his "people."

Mmm gotta agree with SD. What rosey said is more like an insulting stereotype whereas "nigger" is well ya know...
