Go for it. I still think pedophiles should be shot, though, so my opinion probably isn't that valid...

I dunno, isnt having everyone in the neighborhood alerted of your status and personal information enough exposure, i mean its not like theyre gonna forget who you are. And plus, imagine that, going to a restaurant and the valet and everyone walking in the street and all around now suddenly think "Stay away hes a pedophile!!!" Seems a extreme and unnecessary. Like i said in the other thread, this is just ethnocentrism...

Waste of time and money resulting from some singularly inane reasoning on the part of the government, same deal as Jessica's law. The basic argument used is that these people are so dangerous to society that they need to be monitored 24/7 and kept away from people who they might hurt.

But we already have a system for that. It's called prison.

Either these people are as dangerous as the government claims, or they are not. If they are, then letting them out of prison in the first place is utterly reckless. If they aren't, then stigmatizing them for life is utterly baseless. Let's not waste resources on foolish systems that just make people more worried without actually protecting them.

If I were to go along with this law, it would contain a very, very, very important clause: No one, unless by the victim's request during the initial court hearings, who has been convicted of statutory rape, child molestation, possession of chlid pornography, or sexual misconduct with a minor, wherein the victim was over 13 and within 6 years of the same age as the accused party, would be subject to the same requirements of labeling as those of normal cases.

That's just one of my most...passionant issues with our justice system.

big brother wants to make sure we fit into nice neat compartments...
    nah
i dunno about labeling people -- i mean yes the police should know but the easily visible liscense plates should only have meanings to the police -- and i know humans by nature will not keep that a secret.

It is enough that it shows up on a record i think. -- say no to those things -- cause i mean next they will want drug addicts to have a blue one or a drunk driver to have a red one.

Well, given that some states label you a sex offender for totally retarded reasons, this is a very, very bad idea.

So, you are saying that if a 17 year old chick had sex with a 23 year old guy, she could choose for him to have a plate or not, yet if she slept with a 24 year old guy, even though it was just as illegal, this time the plate would be mandatory? Honestly, what is with the 6 years?

What if one got a job as a limo driver! I think I'd hire them out just to get driven around in a limo that had a pedo plate. For the novelty of course ^_^

p.s. I don't agree with the plate thing, for almost all the reasons already stated
