    Gong hay fa choi
    Hom bao nai lie!

If that's spelled correctly it says:
    "Happy New YEAR!!!!
    ....

Now give me my red envelope!"

Um... this Chinese New Years, I

-saw lion dances. 3 different ones. One in the streets of Chinatown. That was crazy since they had FIRECRACKERS! The 2nd lion dance I saw did the whole cabbage/red envelopes eating act. The last one I saw was a modern-hip-hop-version. [Yea, the last one had the lion dancing to bits of the Lion King XD ]

-watched traditional Chinese dances such as the Talchum.

-watched people play traditional Chinese instruments.

-watched a hip/hop modern Chinese dance act

-watched a comedy act mixed with traditional Chinese martial arts. Some how they managed to include even Captain Planet in the skit. XD

-saw this guy do friggin AMAZING acts with a Chinese Yo-Yo. The yo-yo was going around his body, under his leg, up through the air. Truly was indescribable!

    and of course...

ATE ALL YOU CAN EAT DIM SUM! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

    Total cost= $9.

I played Wiisports and Mahjong for new years. My cousin came down from Edmonton for reading week and we were all hanging out. It was pretty great.

Oh yeah, theres probably some Chinese people still bitter about Japanese occupation in WWII, but Koreans... now there's some dudes who hate the japanese.

To commemorate this occasion, I played as the Chinese in AOE2:C vs. a couple of my friends and...

    I lost. Miserably.

He used Japanese and the samurai raped my little archer dudes. What a letdown.

Im just wondering, is it weird when you see someone celebrating Chinese New Year whos not Chinese??? Does it tick you off??? Or does it make you happy your culture has such penetration???

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

Doesn't really bother us. I mean, they have Chinese New Year's celebrations everywhere now, not just in Chinatown.

Yeah, I'm pretty much ambivalent about it too.

One of the best things about Chinese culture (in my opinion), is how non-religious everything is, we don't even really have an original creation myth (there are some that are a couple thousand years old, but those aren't even as old as the start of written history). You can't really get angry about something that doesn't challenge your world view.

Maybe a bit late, but "Happy New Year" 新年快乐 ^^

Yesterday I went to reunion with my relatives. Nice meal. Nice chat. Nice amount of cash(haha J/K XD). Good new year

Not at all. I think it's more a compliment and pretty amusing to see, at least in my opinion. One of my friends, who's not Chinese, also celebrates Chinese New Year because they just love celebration, fun ,and party. Haha. Can't blame them for that

not really. more people, more fun, more food, more money!! XD celebrations are always more rowdy and fun with more people. it brings "up" the general atmosphere.
