Thread: Happy Chinese New Year!

The club I work in tried to put on a Chinese New Years night. Part of their attempt consisted of serving this Sake vodka shit. Now I'm not exactly an expert on the nuances of international relationships but I'm pretty confident that Sake is a Japanese drink. I'm also fairly positive the Chinese and Japanese aren't all that fond of each other... I guess its pretty fortunate that no Chinese people actually turned up then.

The realization that last night was Chinese New Year's Eve makes the events all the more amusing. That was the craziest night I've had since, well, new year's.

my new year sucks, i never like hanging out with the family and i got a super lotto plus ticket from my uncle who i only see twice a year. he even came from florida all the way to CA. i was like wth?! o.O

sake is just rice wine. and fuck, theres plenty of rice in China.

You're kind of right though, China isnt really known for it's sake. Their liquor is better, in my opinion. Its a little sweeter and heavier, generally. Hard to find in the states though. T_T

just replace Sake with rice wine.
Japanese and Chinese also share the same lunar new year

Yay, Chinese New Year! I knew someone with two birthdays becuse when they came to America they didn't know about the differences between the two calenders.

hey just came from slogging around sludge filled Chinatown... twas freezing but awesome, had some good REAL chinese food, got some cheap brand name stuff, and some of those party cannons that launch confetti five stories in the air.

btw wats the deal with those parachute things that everyone is fighting to catch?

reminds me of that hot asian chick i saw at the club friday. I should of talked and try to get her digits. Me being asian, i should be good at determining who is what. Like if someone is chinese, viet, etc, but i couldnt figure out what she was....wait...now that i think about it...i do, she was HOT!
