Campus security got concerned about the tradition because Kauke just received $18 million in renovations this year. And when students started filling the doorways with snow as well, they called in the Wooster Police Department.
Officers claim students threw beer cans and snow balls at them. But before things could get too bad, Dean of Students Kurt Holmes arrived.
"I talked with the Captain at the scene and said, 'if you can give me a little latitude we probably can get this group working in the right way', which we did."
Holmes gave the students one hour to finish the project. And coincidentally classes were cancelled the next day. But Holmes says that's not because of the tradition, but because there was so much snow.
