A Logitech MX Revolution.

A paper hat.
Sex. If he doesn't want it, he is not a man.
Either the MX Revolution or the G7 make great gifts in my opinion. Mice are used all the time and if you are going to be using one all the time, you might as well use a really good, feature-filled comfortable one.

ooooh the evil right handed mouse which makes those of us who are left handed suffer dearly.
which one do u say is better in your opinion??
Both have their strengths and weaknesses.
The G7 is a 2000dpi mouse, assuring great accuracy. The battery life is piss-poor because of such scanning power. It comes with two battery packs. One is left in the charging device while the other is used in the mouse. It takes about 3 seconds to swap them. You can change the dpi setting on the fly, allowing for more precise movements in games (like when you are zoomed in with a sniper), doing intricate stuff in Photoshop, etc. Movement is sleek with its PTFE (Teflon) feet.
The MX Revolution is properly defined as the world's most advanced mouse. Its middle wheel is so fucking awesome. There are several ways of using it. You can use it either as a traditional wheel or as a free-scrolling one. Free-scrolling as in, you just scroll it and it keeps scrolling for a crapload of time or until you stop it. You can also set it to scroll traditionally when you are scrolling slowly and it will unlock itself automatically when you scroll faster. Or you can also change the two modes manually. The side wheel can be used for zooming in and out of documents, flipping through your open documents, windows, etc. Under Windows Vista, the side wheel can be configured to activated Flip3D. It's main disadvantages are the lower scanning resolution (800dpi) and the fact that you have to recharge it by placing it onto a dock. However, the battery life is excellent (10 days or so with some massive scrolling, compared to the G7's one day or two).
