If that were true divorce would be practically non-existant.

I think you'll miss the way things were, but ultimately wouldn't change them. You do a lot of changing after a relationship/heartbreak. Plus it's just natural to change as time goes on.

Think of beginning love like a full glass of water. Well, as time goes on the cup begins to grow. The amount of water in that cup isn't enough to keep it full. As big as the cup gets, that amount of water will always be there, but it'll never increase.

(quote)another question (or, it's more an opinion):
    someone once told me this,
"when you love someone, you can never stop loving them," even if things happen, and somethings come between two people.

    What do you think?
ummm....sure, if it's "love" not "like." Well...wait, i take that back (sort of.) After A LONG time apart, as in like not just seeing each other, but no communication or nothing, you do start to lose the "love" for that person. Time slowly brushes the love away and you slowly heal.

yup, unless that person were a gold digger.

and of course you can fall out of love, especially if they cheat on you, some people go crazy and stalk their ex's, not a pretty sight.

I think love is a choice so naturally I think its possible (but probably not easy) to stop loving someone

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

False assumption. You're basing the divorce rate on two people no longer loving each other. There are too many variables for that to hold true, irreconcilable differences do not necessarily relate to whether or not there is still love, nor does finding someone they love more than their spouse mean they stop loving their spouse.

I personally disagree with the opinion that you never stop loving someone myself, it's like an illness you gradually build up immunity to your feelings to them until they no longer affect you in any noticable way.

    Idk..

I always feel that when you love somebody, you give a part of your heart to that person--and you can never get that piece back. Cause, you'll always have at least 1 fond memory of that signficant other. Maybe it was your first date... the first dance... whatever it was, you'll always remember the feeling you had at that moment.

So yea... a piece of your heart is given away.

(the exception would be like suffering from amnesia and lose all your memory and making you start from scratch).

    Get what I mean?

Not true. I know that divorce happens for many other reasons. If two people did love each other enough to get married and continued to love each other throughout the marriage, despite the problems, then there is no reason for a divorce.

I was simply answering csuti's question of whether or not you love someone for ever.
