wow, you were able to stand working there for a whole year? thats some dedication.

Y'now, you could just install stuff to a pen drive at home, stuff like bitcomet so you can download anime and movies at work, IRC so you can talk to people online (assuming the channel is not dead), or you could install an emulator and some roms and play GBA games, old NES, snes and sega games, hell if you have a 1GB drive, you could even take old playstation games to work.

these are insane amounts for translating things and the likes :s

well actually they are not. under pressure the amount payed to translators per word is less then at freelance level

to apply well.... there is this site called www.epso.eu where exams come out every couple of months and to which you apply and pass. otherwise you apply for a stage at the different communites. thats pretty much it

they do how much hours of work per week ?? because 4000 euros is an enormous amount of money so unless they work 60 hours per week that's more than fine ^^"

... i'm looking at the website now, and there are only FR, EN and DE... arn't there any other languages spoken ?? no spanish/portuguese/italian/etc. translator ?

there are 22 official languages i think 23 since irish is/sint considered one.
they work 37.5hrs a week. but if they have a world load of 10pages a day thats 50pages a week. considering 1500characters per page that goes up to 75000characters a week. up to 300,000 characters a week. taking the average length of a word and the average pay per word in translation it adds up to more then 4000 a month. the only thing is that freelance is as its name suggest dependent opn the workload. working at an insitution where you still get payed even if you have 0 pages is way cooler.


thansk stealdragon but the ports are blocked where i work. so it doesnt matter much if i have a client for irc or downloading. gba is cool kolox gave me a good site ps games... hmm might play ff9 at work would be cool but as i said i have swedish person behind me. playing takes too much concentration and worrying about the person behind you removes most of the fun right?

i didn't say there was no work, but the workload isn't that dense... i mean, most people have much harder works out there while earning only 1000 euros...

another question : are there a lot of people working where you are ?
and are they recruiting a lot ??

back to work this morning. got here @10.45. i should start like at 8.30 latest 9.30. my colleague is sick so ive got the office all to myself. playing super mario at the moment really cool

btw anyone has some good sites to learn stuff? like good language sites/ hi-tech sites etc..

ive got a couple like cisco.netacad.net or megagames.com but i cant spend too much time on each before getting bored
