well, all i can say is if you're one of those religious people then atleast think of what reasons that person has for doing it. im just sayin, not all unwanted/alcoholic/drug addict/depressed/abused child/prostitute/runaway/crazy army vet/homeless people want to stay that way for the rest of his life. some of this have no hope of turning around. i'd too like to live a long life, but ONLY if it was not going to be so miserable that i hate waking up everyday.
This is why I agree with it. I would rather not live than live in pain.

I'm personally of the optimistic set. If my life is shit, then I can always just figure it'll get better. So personally, I don't really see the sense in it. Everybody has the chance to be lucky, and I don't know why anybody would choose to ignore that.

To me, death is something everyone is born with, and everyone has one. Mine will come in due time, i could bring it forward, but i dont know what happens after that death... and if it's something that inevitably will happen, i'd rather experience anything other than that in the mean time.

As for euthanasia, i wouldnt personally want it, but i can't really imagine what some people go through where death might be the best way out... so it's not really my place to say... but it's also no body elses place to say that it's wrong...
I agree with all the points but i've just been around to see what people go through to know that sometimes it's the best thing for not just them but others involved.
My mum's cousin had cancer for six years and she fought and fought against it, she went through so much pain and eventually choose Euthanasia because she couldn't cope with the pain anymore. And neither could her family. They were in pain themselves to watch her go through that for such a long time.

i am against a priori (it may be needed in some cases), as well as i am against determination into artificially keepping someone alive even though he is nearer from a veggie than a human... (there is an expression in french, but i can't translate it )

iam european and i only know the word as "euthanasia".
I don't think that this is a very bad thing, but only if the person is concious and can expres what she wants.Everyone has the liberty of choosing what he wishes as much as this does not obstruct the others.
So if he want to end his life, he can end it.
its not that i dont respect your opinion, i just dont want to hear it!

Yes the decision should always be made by the person themself.

Yes i see what the negatives to it are but i don't think they outweigh the positives.

that's not easy when this person can't communicate anymore or doesn't have all his mind left
    that's the problem ^^"

    edit :
As a decision, i would like to think that my family's choice would be sufficient. If i was a burden to them then they have all rights to switch of life-support or whatever.
if my family was only looking at my heritage (by example, i'm not rich nor old/sick), i would not be happy with its choice... ^^"
