    Default the future

i was watchin the science channel (i <3 it)...and it was a show about the future and pretty much what we're gonna have.

space elevators for easy travel to go up and down out of the atmosphere. The material we'll use is probably going to be is Carbon Nanotube. It's like 10 times lighter than steel, and over 100 times stronger than it.

New bullet proof vest (which is actually going to come out really soon). Made out of either:

    A. nanocomposite
    B. nanoparticles

...that and i should also mention that they are making bullet proof vest with spider silk. Spider silk is the strongest known fiber as of right now.

...then they talked about becoming invisible. How, is having lots of small cameras and lots of small screens on us. The camera displays what's behind us, and the screen shows it (which is in front of you). =\ imo, there's got to be a better way.

then the main thing, was energy. how china and the united states are gonna fight over it.

just a random fact: methane ice, on the ocean floor is a usable energy source and scientist think that there's more methane ice than all the oil and coal combined. Which we could use for future possible energy source...(just..it's a green house gas.)

it was a interesting program...cant wait till the next show...hahaha. =D

I remember Popular Science (or Popular Mechanics, don't remember which) was talking about a "Space Elevator" awhile back. Personally, I don't think it's plausible; just think of the security measures that would have to be taken. One terrorist with a Cessna could seriously damage a Space Elevator.

Ishman works with carbon nanotubes, I had a topic about the future somewhere, he goes into all these details about that shit, like its the greatest stuff on earth XD

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

They are pretty hard, and they're not brittle like diamonds either.

Still I think superstate materials will be more useful.

If we make a elevator to the moon, what will happen when the moon moves around earth? wouldn't the elevator break?

    *edit:
I think those plans are for space stations.

You know, the Bible talks about that when talking about the end of the world... =p

You know that there already is a better solution for invisibility than that workaround with the cameras?
At least if we would see microwaves instead of the normal spectrum, but I guess they will find a way to adjust the spectrum and if they do, we can have invisible military and stuff ...
