Thread: who has seen someone die?

this might be a touchy subject but, oh well......when i was little i was at a meuseum and i saw a kid fall off the edge of the building and die......ever since then, whenever i see someone near an edge or ledge of something of a high height of any kind i start to freak out and i see that kid die in my head....so......my question is this....have any of you seen someone die....and if so, how did it affect your life? i know it's weird but whatever......

I saw a dog get hit by a car once. Does that count?

No, it really didn't affect me. So I guess I have no reason to mention things like that. ^_^

I saw a human being get decapitated. I was in the second grade and was riding home from school. A girl that was about two seats behind me stuck her head out the window to converse with a girl that had just gotten off the bus. The bus started moving and her head hit a telephone pole. I didn't actually see the head come off but I saw the direct aftermath.

Plenty of times.

My grandfather died, while I held his hand, of cancer. I've seen a guy get shot at a bus stop. I've seen three people get cut in half by a conveyor belt that snapped, in a coal mine accident. I've seen a guy get crushed to death by heavy machinery in a coal mine accident. I've seen a guy end up with a pick in his head in a coal mine accident. I've seen at least 7 different fatal motorcycle accidents. And I've seen a guy get hit by a truck.

Did I mention I stopped working in a coal mine, and riding a motorcycle?

....drd....how old are you...and did you see these things in person? and valley man....that must have been scary.......

Hmmm, I, of course, have seen relatives die. And I was with a group of people when a jumper fell very close to us. Didn't affect me, I was more concerned with keeping the girls with us from seeing the body, wasn't really a big deal, but all those touchy-feely idiots wanted us to go to "counseling." Stupid.

...Why do you ask, anyway? Some question for class?

Mid-Twenties, and yes, I saw it all in person. Luckily for me, TV and Video Games have desensitized me to large scale violence and carnage.
