So basically, Sony took a screenshot of Project Gotham Racing 3 (think Microsoft's counter to Sony's Gran Turismo) and use it as a GTHD screenshot.

I had a chance to play the PS3 for the first time yesterday (I got invited to London by EA, I'll create a thread later if I have the time). I played motorstorm on a high def screen (not a small one either, it was at least 32'). What can I say, aside from the noticeably low frame rate, the graphics were not much better than on the 360 (but still a tiny bit better), you wouldn't be surprised to see a version on xbox 360 (if you ignore the fact that its a Sony exclusive). The slight difference in graphics isn't really worth paying £425 (which is $836 according to gamespot) (albeit for the 60GB model) when a 360 is about £280 (without game).

As for the tilt control, you can tell its just a gimmick, I tried it with motorstorm and it just wasn't very good, its way to sensitive. It obviously not a good idea, normally you'd think OK so its a good idea stolen from the Wii, but the first time you use it, you realise that most gamers never hold the pad level or still, so by putting a tilt sensor in, gamers now have to concentrate on keeping the pad perfectly still otherwise it will interfere with the game (unless you turn it off, in which case there is no point in having it in the first place), whats more is the fact that it was used to do a function (steer) that the left analogue stick does better anyway.

Considering what Sony promised, and what they delivered, I must say I am underwhelmed. They promised the best next gen console and gave us a PS2 with updated graphics and a no rumble feature and are now charging an arm and a leg for it. At least Micro$oft came clean and just said that they were offering what is essentially just an Xbox with better graphics.

Right now I'm praying that the Ace combat series and Final Fantasy 13 don't remain as playstation exclusives (I doubt MGS4 will remain a permanent PS3 exclusive).

If you actually read in between the lines, Sony DID promise lots of bullshit and that's exactly what they are delivering.

Well they ARE offering MORE than what they promised.
The BEST online service, lots of GREAT games that were only supposed to go onto the PS3 (VF5, Assassin's Creed, etc) and other stuff like IPTV.
They underpromised and delivering so much more.

But to be honest, the PS3 is a great console being sold for the wrong reasons.

Well let's face it, it's the new Playstation, it's got solid developers working on it, it's got a nice 60GB hard drive, it's quiet, the SIXAXIS has a good d-pad (cause the 360 one sucks; try playing Lumines Live on that), it has good IPs, etc

But just don't bullshit to everyone saying that it is the most powerful console with online capabilities that exceeds anything before and that tilt control will be the next messiah of control schemes.
