Default So no one here is interested in the Oscar nominations?

    http://www.comingsoon.net/awards/oscars.php

    Thoughts?

I'm very pleased that The Departed was nominated for best picture...it was a great film. Pan's Labrynth's recognition was also great.

Children of Men should have gotten a Best Picture nomination.

Nicholson deserved a Supporting Actor nomination.

Still, this is one of the best lists in years.

The only nomination that interests me was Penelope Cruz in Volver.

'infernal affairs' beat every#!@$#@!% out of 'the departed' by the way.
It ain't pretty,After the show,It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you,
With no place to go,If you think you need it,Here's the place to feed it,But it ain't pretty....
Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you,The odds will betray you,And I will replace you,
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you,It longs to kill you,Are you willing to die?
The coldest blood runs through my veins,You know my name...
Ode to the carnage of one resident modship.......

Internal Affairs... and you both just failed. You for misspelling it and you for not knowing he said it two minutes before you.

'Fraid you failed that time. It's spelled Infernal Affairs. F, not T.

IA is vastly superior to The Departed, but I want Scorsese to win his Oscar.

Award shows never really intrigued me, watch a two-three hour show to find out something you could do in five minutes with the internet the next morining.

    damn...

I guess saying I dont think The Departed should win would be just digging a deeper hole.

Nah I wouldn't say so, from what I've heard there's too great a similarity between the way the films are shot for it to deserve a win. I haven't seen it myself and don't particularly want to being a huge fan of the original trilogy, so others can discuss that, but if it's true as much as Scorcese deserves an oscar he shouldn't get it for a poor film just because he's lost out before.
