Ryan Reynolds was supposedly given the scripts to both Namor and Deadpool, and told he could pick which leading role he wanted. I hope he goes for Deadpool.

Transmetropolitan, last news I heard was that Patrick Stewart's production company was offered the rights but hadn't picked them up. Patrick Stewart said for years he wanted to play Spider.

Halleleujah, or probably not as I doubt HBO will be as brutal or explicit with the series as it really needs to be but Preacher HBO TV series 2008

Anybody else notice that comic book heroes have been more widely accepted by the general public? I mean it used to be that the only people who would be okay with being seen in a comic book shop were the nerds but now if a normal guy goes into a store to buy some comics no one really cares. Just goes to show the power that Hollywood has on our society.

more info on Preacher TV series If they do what they say they will in the interview, this will be a damn good watch. Definently not for kids though or for those easily offended.

thats because of the internet I think. Nerdy things are on the internet, the internet became popular, cultures switched, nerds are cool, and hollywood follows whats cool. Its like how Jyuu is always talking about Naruto being popular because of broadband... same can be said for comic book heroes.

Yea....When I was in gradeschool, and highschool, I got razzed because "Comics are for geeks!"

Now, half the time I'm reading a comic book at work, random chicks comes up to me, and starts talking about the latest issue. Damn, I almost wish I was single.

Apparently the guy's in charge are keeping in touch with Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. They're also planning on including the specials like the origin of the Saint Of Killers. I'm really curious about how they'll cast it myself, finding a good Herr Starr or Saint of Killers is going to be really tough. I also feel a lot calmer and more interested after checking the interview I posted a link to above under more info.

I wonder who they're gonna get for Jody. I always thought Clint eastwood at about 55-60 would have made a good Jody. beating a gorilla to death = hardcore brutality
