Thread: For the world?

just bored, anyways i was thinking, instead of always focusing on ourselves, what would you like for the rest of the world? id personally like an anti-capitalist modus operandi to happen. where instead of focusing on maximizing profit companies and governments work to move the furthest forward and please the most customers. id like to see true competition and see people push themselves to advance civilization as fast as possible.

i dunno the thought just crossed my mind today i was thinking of telling my grandchildren "i was alive when the internet first was introduced into the home! and there was Dialup!!!"

^100%. I might be wrong, but weren't the greatest advances in technology around times of war? If nothing is going on then there is less initiative to create new technologies. It would suck if the only time we can better ourselves is by killing other people. It's like a ruler of a country, all those campaign funds come from companies/people who have their own agenda, and the ruler [when in power] would have to satisfy that entities needs.

What about a higher IQ?
If people would be less retarded, there would be less wars, less environmental damage, less President Bush, ...

Philanthropists can only dream of what that would be like.
This world is mostly full of selfish assholes and too much consumerism, as nice as your idea is, it will never happen, ever.

yeah. i know... but i can dream cant i? at least give me the chance to say we created something cool, something thought to be impossible...

ah reminds me of something from gamespot with graphics card makers being complacent thats why the gpu industry sucks.

I'd just like it if there was a time when people weren't fighting each other over land, and innocent people weren't getting killed by suicide bombers or by AIDS, because other governments/drug companies sent over cures and the governments of those countries actually distributed them.

Hopefully we *will* see an end to world poverty at some point in our lifetimes thanks to microcredit. Thankfully.

Well...the only thing I want for the world is for it to be thrown into chaos and destruction. Humanity is corrupt and will eventually be desroyed by humanity itself. Since its eventually gonna happen, I want to see it in my lifetime. World purging is inevitable and WILL happen one day. I wonder how WWIII is gonna start anyways....hmmm, if the main "villain" is Germany again, o_O. My two main thoughts to how humanity is gonna end is 1. Nuclear war or 2. High level technology such as mech's and/or artficial intelligence.

^ are you going to be the one to start this new world?! ahahaha. Change tho...change is uncertain. What lies in the future depends on us...so if u want somethin done...then start out on it. Of course your not going to be able to do it by urself, but then atleast it sets an example on others so they follow ur foot steps.

Many religious groups attempted to do that when the Americas were discovered. They attempted to create perfect societes and towns. Puritans... it gave way to witch hunts... the point being if you try to create a pure world... simply put, you can't. Besides, what is the definiton of "pure" anyhow? as in, no corruption? or no people with brown hair?

Point being the world will never be.. "pure" but at least let us attempt to raise the standard of living for our fellow humans. the is maybe hope for a world without war... I don't know, what I do know is that we CAN make a difference, even if it's only in one person's life... that is still a difference. Cataclysmic war isn't going to be helpful =_=. I doubt humans will be better for it, so why don't we try to work with what we have?

anyhow, that's just my opinion, sorry for the rant XP

Well.....by "pure", I mean a world where humans don't exist, then the world would be "pure" without the corruption of humanity. That's probably the only way to make a world "pure" since humans will never get along with each other and conflict will always be there.
