The worst treatment...
Ya Haaa.. just like the title says..
Me and two friends were talking about women' right...our conservsation was damn long.... I will make it as Questions..
Which country is the worst in the treatment of women..???
What are really women' rights....????
What religion gave women their rights???
it took hours talking about that... the whole night.. talking in my apartment.. we even went to school without sleeping....

As far as I'm aware, Iran treats women the worst (if a women is raped, she gets stoned to death, while the man just gets whipped).
Womens rights is basically the right to be treated equally to men, of course the same women who campaign for those rights, always ask for concessions due to them being women when it suits them.
I don't think any religion gave women their rights as they stand today, rather its religion that is withholding womens rights (e.g. Iran).

some religions actually preach equality of the sexes but it's never really practices in reality. though now equality as it stands is because of law not religion.

about iran, all country using charia are like that, or worse....
i think it is in Pakistan where a woman needs 4 men to acknowledge there was a rape, or else she could be stoned O.o

there will never be true equality. for that youd have to change peoples minds and traditions not their laws. its self evident when you look at things like the salary comparisons of equally trained and experienced men and women.... hell just watch the movie North Country.

I think religions actually gave more rights to women at the time the religion was brought to the people. You can't compare the rights of women from thousands of years ago with their rights now. Also alot of times its the laws, and the people who take rights from their people and not the religion itself.
As it stands right now no country follows the charia the way its supposed to. Also the charia isn't a book of law or anything. You have to analyze it from the Quran and Sunnah. Different people come up with different interpretations.

Indeed, for example, when a woman is pregnant. In that case, they have the right to skip work until she gives birth, and still receive her payment (as if she would be working normally). Also, they can skip work for some weeks (?) after giving birth (again, still receiving her normal payment).
I think that is the only right that women have, and that men do not, but I may be wrong.

Let's not forget the other unwritten rule:
If there is a lady that is under-preforming at work, and in danger of being fired, she can always pick out a random guy, claim harrasment, and get a raise(or a settlement) and the guy fired. If a guy does it, we just call him a pansy and dismiss him.
...Too bad this is, in many cases, actually true, and makes it harder for women that actually are harrassed.
