If you're gonna see a Corean drama, you should see My Girl. Personally, I haven't seen it, but it's one of the best out there from what I'm hearing and the reviews.

Heh, heh. That was actaully one of my reasons for wanting to learn japanese. From what i see you guys are saying that chinese is more beneficial and harder, while japanese is easier. I can't learn both, maybe in the future(far future).

Well, i do have most reason to learn chinese. I was actually planning to go hiking in china this summer.

Now I have to choose. Japanese because I can reads loads of manga and because it is easier or Chinese because I actually get to use the language, is more beneficial, even though it is harder to learn.

    I have decided to learn.....Chinese.

Thanks a lot for your help guys.
I would actually have choosen Japanese at the start because of the manga and the video's on this thread http://www.stoptazmo.com/showthread.php?t=19184 made the language easier to learn.

Now I have to google some lessons.

Awwww, I speak Cantonese, and it's not that ugly. Just more slang than Mandarin, as I heard my friends say.
Try speaking Mandarin with a Cantonese accent.

I speak hakka at home and it sounds more like a raped version of mandarin

    WHAT?
I speak Cantonese and its NOT a raped version of mandarin.
It's also untrue that Mandarin doesn't have slang.
I would say Chinese is more useful and easier (but I'm biased cause I'm chinese.) And Japanese is damned hard.
I wanted to learn it but the course was full so I'm self teaching at the moment. The grammar is bugging me- and each kanji has like 5 different phonetic thingies. But I'm still going ahead with it cause of my interest.
I mean- in the end it's about what you're interested in learning more. It's hard either way so you'll have to be determined to not give up halfway through.

    And Mojo-

Eer... No. This is such thing as wanting to learn another language, or learning it cause you're interested in the actually country as well, y'know. (Mainly for the sake of fangirling Japanese guys. But that's only part of it really.)

Weren't we about to ban this guy for making stupid threads in the manga sections???
