OK, without reading the manga and without reading the article, I can tell you: the sea is not going to evaporate

But global warming and climate change are real
Hell, I live in germany and haven't seen a single snowflake this winter ...

Read the manga and read the article... the cycle of the manga its a reality that can happen.. thats what they always mean by saying a point of no return. meaning, no matter what, the temperature will rise till that point.

DOES ANYBODY KNOW A GOOOD EMAIL SPAMMER??

if spam can be of any god in history, i think spreading this its his better chance..

im trying to create a chain letter.. but i just dont have the friends...

^the seas won´evaporate, cause the ice in the norht and south pole will melt first and so the sea level is going to rise
and this things are already known and there are many(i think) discussions in the politics about this situation
    (and don´t double post)

I read the article and the sea is still not going anywhere ^^
The article is bad news and I don't think less than a decade is enough time for us to save the planet, or better, to save us

Global warming does exist, and there are many theories about what the effects will be (I'm in favour of the next iceage theory). But saying that the oceans will evaporate is just retarded (and your pretty retarded for believeing what the newspapers say without a pinch of salt. Remember in this digital age, the only way news agencies can get newspapers to sell to the mass public, is with sensationalism).
If you were to compare the volume of all the oceans, with the volume of the atmosphere, the oceans would be greater. So saying that the oceans will completely evaporate into the atmosphere is stupid, since there is no way that the atmosphere (which already has moisture in it) could hold that volume of vapour.

    Oh, oh wow.

I'm so totally scared. 450 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide and methane?
Oh no, what are we going to do?

    ... Oh, wait, I'm not.

Because there is something like 100 TRILLION TONNES of water vapor in the atmosphere. And you know what? Water vapor is the MOST POTENT GREEN HOUSE GAS KNOWN TO MANKIND. It absorbs infrared radiaton over the ENTIRE SPECTRUCM. Co2 and Methan cover barely 1% of the spectrum.

No, seriously, I'm fucking pissing my pants at this news.

    Not.

umm had any of you read the manga?

Seriously.. im not talking that the seas will evaporate for real, but that the cycle mentioned in the manga its real, and that it can be triggered like the article says, in siberia, acelerating the warming proccess.. makin us have less than a decade...

um i agree with comp, we probably have even less time

i personally think this news its big,

And i think this manga rocks for bringing the topic on float.

Altought i gotta say i dont think that what the manga says wil happen, after all its sci fi, but the fact that the cycle was real and starting on siberia scared me a lot.

It is scientifically impossible for the seas to evaporate, so I think that we'we got that base covered. However, rising sea levels are still a bitch.

And yet more vater vapor in the atmosphere won't cause as large an increase in global temperature than more methane or carbon dioxide would. This is because more water vapor will create more clouds, which reflect radiation before it even reaches the surface of the earth.

However, I think that the main point is that regarding greenhouse gasses is that more of any of them isn't a good thing.
