    Default Youtube banning AMVs

    Okay, after finding out (much to my surprise) that someone happened to revive this thread... I decided to re-do the first page and set up some rules.

    Awhile ago, i was looking up detective conan episodes and amvs, when I discovered that, not only the episodes were being deleted (which I figured would happen) but the AMVs were being deleted and the reasons given were for copywright infringement.

    Recently, i have discovered that more amvs from other animes are being deleted for the same/similar reasons. Are AMVs also being banned from youtube!?!?

    It has been said that uploading amvs is also illegal, since the people uploading them do not have the rights to the song nor the clips. Even if (and it most likely is) this is true, i still dont agree with it.

    this is not a solution, as AMV will be banned there too eventually

    agreed, most of them are so poorly done its a wonder the creators ever thought before releasing them to the public...

    it's been a long time since the last time i dled one, but i assure you that there are some truely great AMV too ^^
    by example, they don't seem very active anymore but some of NHMK's AMVs were really great

    that's really ashame. some can be could other can be really horrible. though i hope that they don't ban all anime or anime related things that are already liscensed.
