What if Nba followed the example of the NFL as far contracts and salaries???
I think that the Nba is heading for a crash course much the same way has the NHL. You got C-grade players demanding A-grade money. You got players only playing hard their contract year and when they get the deal they disappear. You got Teams losing a lot money paying big money to players who don't deliver. You got players who all they can do is score and can't play any defense demanding Max-money. All in all, a lot of NBA players are bunch money hungry over demanding players.
Now look at the NFL, I know the NFL is a league controlled by Old billionaire white man or families. A no fun league who controls players. BUT, we can't deny that their rules is what makes the league competitive and the biggest ratings grubber on TV. The Players play hard on every plays, every down, every snaps.
Here what the NBA Should do, and i think David Stern needs to make a push for it:: Out of all the contracts signed, a part it needs to be guaranteed. Not like how it is now but like the NFl: a player gets about 35-45% guaranteed and the rest is payed annually where a player can get released anytime which won't count against the cap. But after a number of games, the rest of the year is guaranteed. and they need to set conditions on how a pleyer gets his bonuses.
I don't see why the PA shouldn't agree to this because this will make the league more competitive and will attract more viewers. Players would play hard everynight and this will also lower the salary cap.
