Don't know if I agree with the article in thinking that it was just someone with alzheimers who may have used the biplane and other rare stamps for postage. Could have been someone old who was angry at their relatives and decided to get back at them by using the rarest stamps in their collection for the original purpose they were intended, and by doing so not leave anything behind for the relatives to inherit later.
