Actually I don't have a dog, plus isn't that being a little extreme? If you view both animals and humans as equal than why do you eat meat? Why not eat people as well?Plus as for animals, do you give them proper burials/funerals?No, I mean cmon would you give a fish a funeral?A dog and a cat maybe if its been with you for awhile, except not everyone does that.

yes, hanul, everyone consumes everyone else.
but im talking about just how much discomfort one can avoid causing another.
i started eating plants only because they have a lesser threshold of pain.
it does'nt hurt THEM as much as it would hurt another animal.
it's all about pain. i want to avoid inflicting suffering. anywhere, if it's avoidable. i'm all for it.

why ARE you eating them. again i state facts. you can just live on veggies and have a a perfectly balanced diet. you don't NEED meat.
only the vitamin B12 which is present in minute quantities in the body, i think it was less than a gram requires DAIRY products,'cause it's a li'l hard to find any in plants.
i quit non - veggie stuff a yearish ago because i got to know all this.
i tell you all of this because you say what you say.^
hey, i eat meat, it tastes good. u dont have to kill all the animals, like Hanul was saying. as long as ur thankful for the food u eat, dont waste it on purpose, then it should be fine. wats wrong with that? if a lil ol simba from the lion king ate u, i wouldnt be mad, they like the meat. its fine as long as ur not killing animals just to kill.

And yeah I agree with Digi about the eating thing. It's called nature, usually a never ending cycling where everything and everyone consumes another. Grain consumes minerals in the earth, cows consume grass, humans consume cow, dirt consumes human. and the cycle continues.
i agree, except with that last comment u just posted. for a lot of people, dog is man's best friends, they are treated almost just like u and me. im not saying that i bury my dead gold fishes, i flushed them down the toilet *cough*. back to the matter at hand, pets can be valued as equals to SOME people, not the same for everyone though

We don't eat people because it's not part of our food cycle, although humans would eat humans if they had to. Why else do we have cannibals? For the record, animals usually don't eat animals of their same species either. I do give my pets a proper funeral - or would, if I had any (although I might flush a goldfish down the toilet - it's proper environment IS water, and that's where it is meant to decompose and restore minerals to the sea and all). Anyway, ending the suffering of a creature out of love for it means you see it as superior to something that you can let suffer - like HUMANS.

By the way, things like lentils are nasty. =P I'd rather just not think about the meat I'm eating. Though it's perfectly natural. It's part of nature. The Native people respected animals - not only did they kill for food, they used almost every part of an animal for different things, and they still respected the animal, as I mentioned. It's in their culture. We don't respect the animals we kill for fur, leather, or ivory or whatnot.

Well after reading all of this, I have to say, my stance on euthanasia is somewhat shifting. I see your point and I see mine. I guess my real idea is the fact about people that are vegetables. You cannot get consent from them and yet people still pull the plug on them because of financial issues and so on.

What my new opinion about euthanasia is if you can get valid consent with an adult witness, then it's ok. But if can't, then it's not ok. Killing poeple who are vegetables is not ok, especially the way they kill them by removing the feeding tubes and giving them a long death.
