    Default I need some ideas.

Post any usefull aplications of a nanoscopic gyroscope you can think of.

I'm in a bit of slump in actual applications for one.

Nanoscopic appliances that require gyroscopes? Like those navigating dealys? Then we can build nanoscopic planes and nanoscopic pilots. And have a nanoscopic war with nanoscopic nukes.

I'm not in that field, but I'm sure there must be some medical application for that. Probably surgery related to boot, but I can't think of anything specific.

Maybe for a nanoscopic instrument that fires nanoscopic beams to kill my non-nanoscopic STD's.

Am I right to assume that this thing wouldn't work in space? I'm not really sure of its mechanics.

But I bet it would work underwater.

    No... not really.

It's a GYROSCOPE. It SPINS. Not much more to it than that. It's really just an inertial stabilizing system. You can take readings from it, these readings indicating a change in the velocity of the object.

    Ah, so velocity, then.

...I can only really think of medical purposes for this. Everything military related is large enough that it doesn't need it. I guess measuring changes in velocity as it travels through a person's system? Could it be used to study the heart, or the digestive system somehow?

I think I'm really tired tonight. What have you come up with so far, Ishman? Or rejected?

Edit - There must be something technology related, but I just can't think of it right now. Everything that comes to mind is too large to need anything nanoscopic for measurements. Sorry, Ish.

Maybe...if we made nanoscopic Smurfs...and had vets put them in dogs to work on them...it would tell them what way is up in there? Sniffing glue is fun...

    Too large?
If the gyroscope is nanoscopic, then that means your saving a bunch of space. However, it's also more sensitive, and it could potentially be swamped with 'background noise'. Of course, gyroscopes are also stabilizers.

One potential application would be in the terminal guidence system of ballistic artillery. A durable system that is, capable of enduring the extremely high acceleration of firing, and saving space to be used for payload or electronics.
