    Default What do you think?

There is a sit-in coffee shop around here that charges an extra 20 cents to put the coffee in a to-go cup. The idea is the extra cost for the impact on the environment. What do you think?

    That depends:

    - As a conservationist idea, it is a nice one. Charging more for the impact on the environment. Yet, it may not lead anywhere. Just by charging more for the to-go coffee, you won't save the environment. Maybe using to-go cups made of other materials, that have less impact on the environment, would be a better idea.

    - Marketing-wise it may be a bad idea. I understand when it should be charged a little bit more on to-go products, because sometimes they require more package. In this case that is not applied, and they are just making the product more expensive. Unless the people nearby are conservationists, and support this idea, it might lead to problems to the owners of the place.

My school cafeteria does the same thing, but I'm pretty sure that it's just to squeeze more money out of us.

I think if you want to conserve the enviroment you should stop drinking coffee. Just read about removing the caffeine from decaf in particular.

Plus the ways in which they're planting the coffee beans...doesn't matter whether it's fair trade coffe or not lol.

20 cents is a ripoff. Use the regular cups.

edit: the poll phails because only one person voted...and it was me.

I think they're mainly doing it for the money, but do have some good intentions at the same time. It's good for the environment maybe, but it's not too good for your wallet. Oh well, I voted 3 because it comes closest, but I would say a mix of 3 and 1 is more like it.

^Me after watching Spirited Away, because I discovered the best movie ever!
Random but good advice: Play Metal Slug.

It's like this supermarket here in B.C. called Superstore (original, eh?). They charge 5 cents per grocery bag.
