and dude I'm pretty sure you're only supposed to give em greens like lettuce and stuff and things like dandelions. heh according to .. "Popular Tortoises" high protein foods, i.e. meat, can make up to 5 % of their diet. And also "because tortoises are natomically and physiologically built as vegetarians , excess proteing can be harmful to their health"....humm doesn't say anything about rice though, on the safe side I'd probably guess not

I was thinking of turtles, I guess vegetables are harder to get underwater, the ones I fed mostly eat worms, it's really fun to watch, they tear it apart with their beaks and you can see little bits of the worm floating in the water.
