who cares if prostitution were to be legalized then people wouldn't need to go to thailand (and by that i mean child molesters).

as for ethics people don't really care about ethics anymore.

That's why the world is such a great place today.

^Me after watching Spirited Away, because I discovered the best movie ever!
Random but good advice: Play Metal Slug.

even if prostitution was legal, some people would get raped anyway by people who didnt have money to get a whore.
but... it'd defaintely be a different place around here if the whole world legalized it.

It's pretty dumb how people think prostitution is the solution to rape. Rapist are just a bunch of dumb guys who don't care to control, or learn how control themselves. They're the ones to blame for their actions, yet everyone is so keen on blaming everything else for some reason. If you want a solution to rape that actually works, try public executions. I thought the world didn't care about ethics, so why be all saintly when dealing with rapists?

Isn't rape usually a spur of the moment thing? I'm no expert, and I don't want to be, trust me, but it seems to me that prostitution wouldn't have much of an impact on the occurrence of rape...

And as far as I know, prostitution is legal, at least in Canada. It's soliciting that gets you in trouble, not being a prostitute.

I think taxing prostitutes is a ridiculous and greedy thing to suggest. Prostitution is normally something people turn to in desperation, and if you can't see that all it takes is a look at all the dangers associated with the profession. A lot of them are drug addicts, sleeping with the wrong person can get you killed (not all solicitors are friendly, folks), I've heard about prostitutes being targeted by rapists (which is stupid and cruel on so many levels), not all of them are educated about protection from diseases or pregnancy, and most of the time they don't exactly have the best living conditions. You can't tax these people, it's ludicrous.

I would like to see more programs that take care of their health, though.

See, now, that's a creepy detail that I was unaware of.

But if it is planned, then I take it that means they have someone in mind, so...I stand by my thought that legalizing this whole thing wouldn't make much of a difference.

Your (a) abuse of the English language and (b) offensive slur should earn you a ban. Go away.

I can barely understand what you're saying.

The restrictions will be lighter in 30 years, assuming the current trends continue. The FCC has nothing to do with prostitution.

the money is split between: Government(taxes), Cable provider and TV station. NOt only that, the government gets money from both Cable provider and TV station.
What the holy fuck are you talking about?

Professional prostitutes are concerned about their own health as well and take precautions to avoid spreading and/or getting STDs.

This could have been a good argument until you blatently showed your own bias in the very first paragraph. Too bad. /shakes head
