Yeah, but since everyone who downloads the RC1 has a DVD writer, I don't think that matters much.

id bet that at least half of the people that did used a virtual drive like daemon or alcohol 120%

alcohol 120 doesn't work. It's Magic Disc or Daemon. And i've installed Vista and still today it works fine and hasn't seen any bugs. It's way better than XP. If there is a problem, it detects it and fixes it. It lets almost no spyware or malware get in the hard drive. It never crashes.

for now, but when viruses will appear designed for vista, and you won't be able to have the upgrades as you will be stuck with a beta, you won't be this happy anymore

well so far my vista works fine but i think i'll still go xp when sp3 comes out

there is an Anti-virus for Vista in case you didn't know.

for xp too, you know ??? there are tons of AV for each version of windows... why ? because there are a lot of viruses

granted that vista is supposed to be more secure than its predecessor though

you can install this on seperate partition, like I did, this way you can always use your current windows XP. I installed the vista RC1 on my work compt hehe, since my laptop doesn't meet the aero requirement. o This IS the ultimate edition.

well, the vista makes me my work a little bit slower since I'm not familiar with the slightly different button position and the new features, but this is really nice.

Ghost, did you try if office 2003 is working on Vista? or any softwares for windows xp gonna work?
I'm now looking for office 2007 beta d/l

i'll get vista next year, maybe.... (for games i guess)

Anyhow, I have it installed on two of my desktops, one of my laptops and my new tablet PC. I have to say that it's pretty cool.

The only thing that sucks is the lack of SLI support in the NVIDIA Vista RC1 drivers. I can't play my games at 2560x1600 on Vista.

Oh and I am an MSDN subscriber now.
