Sorry, fixed it. Didn't know quotes made it italic by default.

Why would we fail at imagination?
I'm athiest and in math problems, I am one of the best in class at coming out with ways to solve the problem.

Personally, I hate this whole stupid concept of Santa on Christmas cause it kinda makes little kids think "Christmas is the day of sharing and giving and SANTA CLAUS and presents!" The media encourages Santa too.. Almost every single Christmas special/movie is about that Fat guy. Ask any little kid and very few will go "Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ."
You know what Sinterklaas (Santa Claus), is just a piece of folklore taken out of proportion by commercialization. Honestly, if parents take anytime to actually think of a child's education you would know the folk tale behind the figure and not all of that crap. Saint Nicholas was a bishop who gave gifts to impoverished children in what is now Turkey.

when i have kids i'm never gonna encourage the santa idea.
i'll just say 'these are from me. see? i'm kind. so don't ditch me in an old people's home when you're grown up and have a job.'

still, I really don't think if athiest is really athiest since you never heard them screaming "oww nothingness....yesss", when they are making love, so there should be something in their head....and it is not nothingness.

Don't know if discouraging the once a year santa idea would help more than parents working throughout the year to make their children less self-centered and materialistic. If mom and dad find they need a little help around the house and with trips to a store or doctor late in their lives, they are so screwed if their kids only care about themselves and what's in for them to help out. No money or other tangible benefits in it for kids like this and the only thing the parents may get from them are excuses about why they can't come over and help.

wow i love where this topic went, its seems here everyone universally agrees with this guy being to radical for his own good, he makes excellent points and fucks them up with extremist reactions/solutions to the "problems"

i do agree with the writer of the article but before you condemn me for agreeing with a barely hysterical over-the-top writer just know that i do think that what hes saying is true, when i decided to approach the pastor of my church and tell him i was agnostic the first thing he did was talk about how atheists are to be eternally damned unless they are model human beings and how the only true path to happiness is giving to the church and giving my life to Christ... i found my own pastor, a man i know and respect, feeding me such idiocracies (is that a word?) that i could do nothing but shake my head and leave.

hate to be the guy on the fence but has anyone tried to understand where hes coming from???

well as someone whos been exposed to those very same myths when the topic of atheism was bought up in a christian environment... yes i agree because yes it does happen and yes there are people with those ideas... just because it hasnt happened to you does not mean it doesnt happen. when i say that i agree with his responses to the myths thats my perogative.

but then again when a woman can say that telemarketers cause insanity and death and they are the Anti-Christ its hard to have much respect for the religion as a whole... jeez dont extremists ruin it for everyone?

What is with the list makers obsession with debunking christianty... there are other religions out there... It almost makes him sound like the 2nd in his list.
