I myself, used to be a Christian and always found going to church as pointless. i've never once in my life felt that I needed god for anything, in fact, I don't even know if he exists, and nor do I care. I don't need religion to lead a good life. How is God any different from the other gods in other religions? It's just a matter of what you want to believe.
Alsp, nobody can guaratee that the bible is authentic, it has beeen manipulated throughout the times through countless translations, and Constantine was the one who practically made the bible. He made the it out convinience to unify the Roman empire as a Christian religion, and he neede something to reenforce it. The Bible was not handed to mankind by God, nor was it dictated to human stenographers by God. It has nothing to do with God. In actuality, the Bible was VOTED to be the word of God by a group of men during the 4th century. Constantine was the one who chose what would be in and out of the "holy scriptures", so I see no reason to believe 100% on what it says, and half the bible are pure myths anyways.
I believe religion came to be mostly because humans have always been so curious and wanted to have an explanation for everything around them, such as how they came to be. And just just like the roman gods, someone had to have created the universe and mankind. There are several Gods that supposedly did the same thing as God in Roman, japanese, and indian mythology, and I don't see how they are any different from God. Science clearly tells us how the universe was formed, and it doesn't say that planets just popped up out of nowhere.
I don't have anything against Christianity, or Christians for that matter, I just don't belive in it. And some people say that Atheists are followers of satan or they've been "brainwashed" by satan, but how could a person that doesn't belive in God or heaven, believe in satan?
