    He has (had) two kids.

I think its kind of fitting that he died that way, well almost fitting, were it not for the fact that stingrays aren't that dangerous, they usually just swim away before you get near them, and also the fact that he spent his entire life wrestleing dangerous endangered animals and in the end he was killed by one that isn't that dangerous and isn't endangered, ironic really.

Don't get me wrong though, I liked the guy, but I'll always remember him as the snake man and for the fact that I could never tell the difference between him and Ray Mears for some strange reason.

He accidently cornered it so it went into defense mode. Youd just think hed get killed provoking the animals like he does but died when he didnt even know about it.

considering that only 2 other people are known to have died because of a stingray in australia, he was very unlucky :P

There's posters in my hallway about him calling him "the legend."

I didn't know that meant he died till now-ish. What a sucky way to die. =(

    actually..it was a HUGE stingray.

he was filimg a documentary about sharks in reefs near australia. a shark began to hunt down this huge stingray and it went into defense mode and killed irwin in the whole mess of things, mistaking his presence for a threat.

the events were supposedly caught on film. it is believable because he actually was filming a documentary.

his wife didn't find out until hours later, she was mountain climbing elsewhere.

they aren't going to kill the stingray, he wouldn't have wanted it that way.

he was a good man. his child-like fascination with natural beauty was inspiring.

While yes, it was a horrible thing and yes its sad for his family. I have absolutly no sympathy for him.. He knew the risks associated with what he did, he rolled the dice and this time he lost. Its that simple. It was inevatible that this was gonna happen.
