Advancement of what? Weapons, Automobiles, computers? I'm all for the high-tech future we are headed to but at one point or another people are gonna realize that killing nature for the sake of "advancement" isn't worth it. But hey like someone said nature wins at the end anyways.(FF7 comes to mind)

Nature will be different, not obliterated.

I second that! But anyways I've been bugged by my hardcore enviornmentalist friend. He's always telling me to save the world from global warming and that the human race is too stubborn to change. It gets annoying after awhile after hearing the same thing over n over again.

Maybe they're joking? But we'll still be alive at the time. People say it will begin to happen as early as 2025.

The problem is not the wood harvesting. But the apathetic of not re-planting small trees as substitution for future needs, but instead let the mountain go bald.

Many cases of rock avalanche like in my country caused by the apathy of those ilegal tree harvester that do the job and forget the rest of the folks.

You'd think by now we'd have a law in place or a more efficient way of wood harvesting to avoid problems like these, sadly that is not the case...

Well, I know people who think like that, even if they are half joking generally.. and that's sad.

In Norway the woodcutting business always replants an area they've cut down, and leaves it for about 20 years I think, seems like the best option.

Oh, and you suck at photographing.
