Thread: The depth of comparing reality to manga

Recently ive been intrigued by a simple question...

Can you compare manga to reality? read this thread and it will prove to be interesting

there are many different perspectives on this issue

1 - some people say that you cant compare manga to reality...why? simply because manga is based on fiction and anything can happen in manga...
(im cutting this short but theres more to this perspective than it seems)

2 - other people happen to be very logical and practical. They relate/compare everything that happens in the manga to the reality that they face in their everyday lives. for eg. *speed* seems to be an issue for these people... they say that the difference in speed seems to be at fault...(naruto)

ill cut it short on this one too (after all i realized that if i type too much this thread will become as boring as watching 2 insects mate)

3 - these people seem to be a hybrid of the perspectives of the 2 others. They believe that u can compare manga to reality only to a certain extent. On the other hand you have to give manga some leeway in saying
, rock lee can see a rock going at 100 km/s, is possible....because its manga...its fiction............but what is that extent in which you can compare manga to reality?

The reason why i posted this topic is because one of the main reasons why people argue is because the basis of their arguments are different. Their comparisons are different therefore resulting in different facts and opinions.

If we are to argue different points then the data that we have has to be the same... no?

i encourage(abet) all of you to share your opinions/principles/thoughts/perspectives/theories...and what not.

I'm gonna need a one sentence synopsis of what you just said.

Yes, I can compare manga to reality but why would I?

I don't see why the hell you would use the term manga. Wouldn't it simply be reality ralting to stories? Like Harry Potter, for example, is not a manga, but retards out there actually think they can fly on brooms, and the less extreme, though equally retarded, think they can fix life's problems by seeing how Harry and his motley crew deal with theirs.

In anycase, those who have to turn to fictional stories for answers to their problems should admit that they have a sad, sad life.

some manga deals with extereme situations with practical, every day type of solutions.

i am not saying you should believe that when you die, you might be transported to a room with a black ball in it. but many manga attempt to convey what society sees as good morals. how their characters make their decisions could be considered a scenario of what your current decisions could lead to.

i just read manga for fun, though.
