i completely agree with twistedfaith, if i was a skinner there i wouldn't mind being filmed (especially if the cameraman give me some dollars)
about the skinning itself, lets be realist : they won't use anesthetics because even if they want to they would lack the money.... they are poor enough like that.
Also they can't kill them with a knife because i guess it would hurt the skin and thus they would gain even less...
it's horrible, yes (i have not watched the entire movie even if i have it for years), and the easier solution i can see to ease the suffering of these animals would be to simply hit them better on the ground so that their spines break
ps : i hope i'm not HS as i didn't open the link, but i don't think there are a lot of movies like that so i must be in the green
Anyone seen a movie called Roger and Me by Micheal Moore? Remember the whole rabbit skinning part?
china isnt the only place to do that so shut it.
but yeah- it's sick and twisted
but on the other hand, if the people didnt do that they'd be out of a job and starve and die.
@quirai : the problem is not the job, but how they do it and make animals suffer while it should not be necessary.. ^^"
and china not being the only one doesn't prevent us from talking about it, is it ?
well no shit its not the only one who does it. take a look at America's meat industry... as if THAT isnt horrific.
but besides, death stiffens the skins of animals sometimes, so if they get it off while its alive its of better quality. (no, i'm not saying that its okay to do this, im just saying their's a reason for it.)
shautieh makes a good point, killing the animals would only de-value the pelts.
This is a way of life, it's just that the majority of us are not used to it because we're too sheltered.
Hell, I admit, even I got the willies at one point, and I've been known to sit through ten minutes of meatspin. (on a dare)
I did one... didn't you see?? =P
