Thread: Thailand and Asian child prostitution and HUman Trafficking

Everytime I turned the news channel the last couple of days, i saw the story of John Mar Karr(murderer/rapist/kidnapper of Jon benett Ramsey, who sought Refuge in Thailand, a place notorious for underage prostitution male or female.
I think 5 or 6 months ago, I saw on the news, a old man being arrested right after getting off the Airplane, for alledgedly paying to molest a 12-13 year old boys over in Thailand which is an everyday occurence day.
In Mexico, right next to us, child prostitution happens there on a regular basis.


Many women are forced into the sex trade after answering false advertisements and others are simply kidnapped. Thousands of children are sold into the global sex trade every year. Often times they are kidnapped or orphaned, and sometimes they are actually sold by their own families. These children often come from Asia, Africa, and South America.

The U.S of course can't do nothing about it since it isn't happening in their COuntry.

the biggest problem is that people that go there to screw underage children come from occidental/rich countries.... what a good example of civilized behaviour >.>

what's sad is that families in these countries are sometimes so poor that they don't have much choices other than selling/"renting" their children... (and there must also be some sickos out there that make kids in order to sell them later )

We're not that rich to help everybody's problem...

Am I unsympathethic? Yup. But, I'm also realistic. There is no motivation for the selfish US to do anything. Do you really think tax payers will want to stick their noses in other people's business if there's no profit for themselves?

Cultural thing. Some countries have cultures that dictates no wrong in having sex with your so called 'minors'. Take for instance, 1600's Japan. Mighty Samurai would sex it up with plump young boys or other men. Were they considered gay? No. Because that was normal for a man. Shut up then.

The US tries to do what's within it's power to do. For instance in 1994 Congress established 18 U.S.C. § 2423(b), which is intended to prosecute child sex tourists.

I wasn't saying it as something to hold against the U.S nor Knock them for it. I was saying like how we put Americans behind bars for it over here and we can't stop an American from going overthere to pay for a child prostitute. We can't go over there and arrest them because it's happening in another Country.

well think about it... there is no possible way any country, not just the US, could put a stop to it. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY... there are just far too many people involved in it. why? because it makes money. helping others often doesnt, which is another reason the US is not helping.

we can't arrest them, but we can declare war on them. At least, thats our presidents mentality.
