Bi-racial Mentor?

I found this while browsing my university community website.

"Ad Text: I am looking for a bi-racial mentor for my 13-year old daughter, preferable black and white/asian. My daughter is really wonderful, but struggles with finding an identity and fitting in with the "right crowd"... I'm looking for someone who is positive that can help her navigate through these difficult times in middle school and one she can look up to and talk to (in addition to her mom).

I'm going to go ahead and say that that's idiotic. What the fuck does it matter if the mentor is biracial? I'll smack anyone who disagrees.

I'm realy trying, but no matter how long I think about it, I fail to understand that man and his "Bi-racial Mentor"-problem.

I really should have shot a picture of this ad for a secretarial hiring. It read:

HIRING: FEMALE SECRETARY/ MUST BE CHINESE OR HAVE CHINESE BLOOD/ AGED 16-19.

Uhoh.

Looking for a future husband for her perhaps? Black down under, asian mind? :P

Well it could be that her daughter is bi-racial, or her mom's just looking a nice black guy, if you pay attention, she mentioned specifically Black (mix).

I do not believe in the traditional set up of Indian marriages. So, told my parents and relatives that i am

THERE IS REALLY NO CATCH IN IT.

I am a grad student here (dept will be told - in person). We both need to get each other's acquaintance
very well in US first... This is NOT a solicitation for Sex.

I just want to appease my parents (I know I am lying too)...

I plan on visiting India next summer...

Such a thing sounds like a new American Pie movie.

edit: On second thought, sounds like the perfect romantic comedy movie.

Actually that's not horribly surprising. A lot of westernized indians hate the idea of being forced into marriage by their overseas parents. I can sympathize, but I doubt this guy is going to have an easy time finding a woman who would actually do this. Despite his making it fairly obvious that it's just a charade and he isn't asking for a girlfriend or some nonsense, anyone looking at that ad will automatically think that first. So, prospects: unlikely.
