WHAT'S THE POINT OF MYSPACE? HOW COME IS IT AN INTERNET/SOCIETY PHENOMENON?

(It's a serious discussion. If you are pro-MySpace, please explain why it's so great and why should everyone have 120 e-friends.)

I really don't understand what the fuck people find in MySpace. If you want to keep track of your high school/college/university friends, there's Facebook for that. And what's with the "omg I gots 10000 friends!!!11shiftone!!" thing? Can't have real life friends now? Gotta scour the internet to "befriend" 40 year old pedophiles?

Wonder how many Myspace profile pictures are actually fake / not them...
When my friend went to Japan with his dad for 2 weeks, he met up with a Myspace chic to show him around for a day or two, at least she wasn't a fake...
