The typical resolution for a 17" is 1024x768, but that of a 19" is 1280x960, but good ones go up to 1600x1200 @ 75Hz.

Yours can go up to 1280x1024 @ 65Hz.

Try to use it at 1290x960 @ 70Hz.

It's a bit strenuous on the eyes, with the small fonts and all. By the way, what refresh rate should I use on a 1024x768 resolution? I'm currently using 60Hz.

    You get used very quickly.
My general advice about refresh rates is to always use the highest refresh rate that your monitor can offer.
60Hz is really horrible, unless you are on an LCD where refresh rate doesn't mean the same thing.
Your eyes are less stressed as from 70Hz, but the higher the better.

Hmm yours can go up to 85Hz at 1024x768. USE IT!

Woooooo. 19'' 1600x1200 a nice compfy size....when you first switch to it is seems a bit small but after a day you wouldn't want to switch to anything else. But......I wish i had a little dual screen operation going... We had one at work... but of course that was just us...fiddling with spare parts.
