Attack has widely been compared to the NSP in Germany due to its virulent anti-semitism and the similar way in which the two parties made their way into the parliament. Party members, however, strongly oppose the comparison as they see themselves as 'carriers of a new teaching'. In several publications Siderov, the leader of Attack, suggested that the Jews have been plundering the world by financial speculation since ancient times. On numerous occasions he criminalized the entire Roma or GYPSY population in Bulgaria and talked about 'gypsy terror against Bulgarians' tolerated by the state.

Sounds just like the Nazi party to me.

You might say that, but I don't think you'll appreciate the politics in Bulgaria. It's pretty much an anarchy, with all the bads and goods that come with being an anarchy. They do have parties of nearly every type, but what results is complete chaos and zero productivity. The roads are potholes, criminal organizations abound, and death could come at any point in time (with a much greater probability than say, America). Freedom has its costs, too.

What this is is Scapegoating, a very practical thing for any political party. When the masses are convinced a certain group is the source of their problems, they will become afraid and angry, and unite. And when they are offered solution or protection, they often will do virtually anything to achieve it.

And they are VERY easy to control.

A party can very easily twist this emotional united group as shown through out history, Hitler being the most famous example, but by far not the only one.

I'm not saying this party is a bunch a Nazi's, I don't have that much info. But what I AM saying is they have the potential to be. These guys are manipulating feelings. DON'T trust those who manipulate your feelings; whether the Bulgarian Attack Party, German Nazis, or American Republicans/Democrats. If they can't appeal both to emotion AND logic, you should think a little bit more about what they're saying.

And, yes, I understand sacrifices sometimes must be made for freedom and nobody's perfect and maybe I don't quite grasp the conflicts over there.

But would your Bulgarian friend be so willing to make this certain sacrifices if he were a Roma or a Jew?

I don't have anything against Jews or Romas, and neither does he. I was just pointing out that though there is the freedom to create whatever political party you like, that kind of freedom isn't a good thing. Some might say it's a good thing to have such diversity, but I'll disagree with them very quickly.
