Thread: Gay Marriage

That's right, I started it. Based on the arguments from the pages of the "Do you think that the UN is just a piece of useless Sh-t?" thread (strewn throughout pages 6-10 if anyone is wondering). ANY responses whatsoever you may have to comments made on that thread concerning the topic of Gay Marriage should be posted in THIS THREAD ONLY! We have already gone so off topic on that thread that its starting to get ridiculous. I will be posting a link to this thread from that one so that people know where to go.

So off we go with the discussion:

I submit that Gay Marriage is in fact, correct and that gay people are still people and that gives them the right to marry eachother. After all, what is gay marriage going to do when it is legalized? Is it going to kill us with its horrible WMDs?! XD

I don't believe in gay marriages.

I don't believe that genetically people have an inborn gene that reveals itself later in life to people and magically tells you "hey, guess what?! you're GAY!"

People always love to say that genetically you are born gay. That doesn't make sence to me. Almost everyone out thinking "I'm straight." [because genetics proves I'm straight!"] and then a few months later go "I'm gay" [because genetics said so!] and then go "wait! I like both. Does this mean I'm bi?!" [because genetics said so!]

See what I'm trying to say? The "genetics said so!" excuse is a bullshit answer in my opinion.

I think being gay is sinful because of religious reasons.

However, I won't say "gay people are the worse type of people around." [mostly cause, nobody is perfect and we all got our sins/problems/baggage]. Also, it's cause I do have a few friends who are.. gay.

I don't have anything against gay people, and if they want to get married, I can't care less, but I think that they shouldn't be allowed to raise children.

Well because I like my Real Estate agent a lot, I support his life choices. So if he wants to marry his partner, good for him. They should live happily together.

+1, except you can't call it a marriage if they can't raise children.... and that's why i am for a "union", whatever the name, but not a marriage which is defined by a union of 2 people from opposite genders, which generally leads to children

I'm personally against it.
But I realize that in order to live up to this country's creed of "all men are entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness", it should be allowed.

Plus, it's not me they're marrying.

Meh, I don't care. They do what they want and I do what I want.

i dont mind it. but then again, i'm from Vermont. we're pretty tolerant up here, so i'm just average.

If you're gay, go and marry gay.

On a side note, why shouldn't gay people be allowed to raise children? They'd have to adopt first of all which releases pressure on the number of unwanted babies (I wonder where they come from) and it's not like the kids inherit their gayness. O NOZ ITS CONTAGIOUS! Third, does being gay immediately make you an inferior parent to the drunk guy in a wife-beater who smacks his kids around?
