I'm still wondering what sport other then soccer is crazy enough to give the MVP award to a player who was ejected before the end of the championship game for doing something really stupid.

It doesn't matter what happened at the end. Throughout the series he was an MVP player so he earned it.

Yeah, I don't blame him. If someone cursed my family, I'd rip him to shreds.

But it does matter at the end, again what sport other then Soccer would this happen in? I doubt it would happen in the hockey, someone could have 5 goals and 2 assists and if they are ejected they aren't winning the MVP. Someone in american football could have 300 yards rushing and if they are ejected they aren't winning the MVP. A baseball player could hit three grand slams and if they are ejected they aren't winning MVP, and the list can go on and on.

Being the best player isn't the issue he was ejected what other sport can you win (edit= win MVP) no matter what you did if you are ejected? I can't think of another.

As to what was said depends on what side you believe ....

    You mean to say...
The Most Valuable Player award went to the person who caused his team to lose the match.

I dunno... If a guy shoulders his team for the season and takes them to the playoffs game 7 but 5 minutes before they win he fights with another guy and gets sent off, that one fight can't erase everything that guy did. I mean, he's not playing anymore because of something bad, but the team wouldn't even be there if it wasn't for him. MVPs go to the people who are MVPs. There are other trophies for sportsmanship.

Partially, even if he had been in their they might have lost. He was their best penality kicker and that might have made a difference.

Mostly I am saying if you do something stupid, no matter the reason, and are ejected for it I don't care if you've played the best game of your life and the best game the sport has ever seen you don't win MVP. No other sport that I know of would award someone MVP no matter the game they played, the second they are ejected the game they played ceases to matter and the MVP goes to someone else.

I see no one else has offered even one other sport yet where someone screwed up was ejected and still won MVP.

That's only because I have no recollection of any events that fit the criteria. Zidane is a rare case. It's not just the one game, he was a leader for the entire series.

Zidane deserved the golden ball award, throughout the matches he played in the team liftted. Just becuase he headutted that idiot aka Matterazi it just doesnt mean he shoudn't get the award.
