Regions! Now that is just a big huge scam by the multinationals! They're not even illegal to get rid of, so why have them in the first place? to make more damn money that's all :@
I don't download music and crap so I don't really care about those, so I'll talk about movies.
Let's face it, movies are meant for viewing in the theaters and that's where I go to see the latest films, so producers get my support for their efforts there. Think about it, would you rather sit in the theater with a giant screen and surround sound to watch LOTR 3 or sit in front of the computer and watch it? It's just not the same experience with films like these where visual effects with combination of surround sound really gives the film good or bad. In my point of view, downloading the same movie you have already watched in the theater is considered owning the movie after you paid for it to watch it in theaters.
Besides, majority of the people in the world aren't hardcore pirates anyways. Most internet providers limit how much you can downloads as well.
I don't think people would be that stupid,

Only listen to it on the pc? I thought most people now have cd/dvd burner? or mp3 player?
I do go to the movies, but it ain't like i pay the fee for every movie. I pay for one movie and then jump from one theater room to another. If im with a girl i dont do that but when its me and my boys, we do that all the time. from movie room to another, we be watching all the movies for one price.
Best way ^_^ although I don't do it much, its a good way of getting out of a crappy film.

if you pay and download your music on the internet, this music will be protected and you won't be able to burn it as you want...

about normal cds, i think it was sony that put trojan on it to prevent pirating them, it was a flop but people bought them.
There were cds that couldn't been read with a cd-rom to prevent pirating them, so people ended not being able to listen to their new cd on their computer, but also in their cars and etc.
it was not so long ago, and that's why i don't buy music anymore....
and people are that stupid, just look at how well music online chops are doing -_-
a big advantage for the consumers....
like me.. ^_^
To be comeplty honest...i've bought tv episodes before...I'm ashamed of myself but I honestly couldn't find them anywhere else.
I bought "Dead Like Me" tv episodes on ebay, yes bootleg!
I think they don't have showtime here or it is soo expensive to get one,
and later on my friend told me I can get that channel using blackbox - cable descrambler =_
hmmm when it comes to movies i go to the theatres but i download crappy movies just so i can say i saw em. if i miss the chance to see a awesome movie (Memoirs of a Geisha, King Kong, Match Point) ill download it... but ill buy the dvd anyway. i do support my actors/actresses/directors cuz hey... i want to make em rich and i want them to make more movies.
I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends
