It already is. Top Cow has been advertising it like mad. Personally, I prefer the more organic looking Witchblade, but I prefer the mother over the detective. It's a bit eh though. Anime is almost done or at least, halfway there.

I think the blade is the same as the one that's on her crotch, it simply enlarged. It's obviously a defence mechanism if anyone decided to get on top of her against her own free will.

It looks as painful for the defender as the defendee.
