    How can you tell how calm they are? They don't even have faces. I can imagine the little girl with a horrified look on her face as she tries to escort her young impressionable brother away from... well anyways, you get the point. I just think it's weird so many people say the kids look calm when they have no defining features.

    I think you can work out a reasonable estimate of their current state of mind from their body language, maybe.

    Notice the lack of raised, flailing arms, cowed heads, or even legs indicating a speed of gait.

    Even so, at this particular stage, they seem to find no reason for concern.

    As researchers have shown us, the moment of realisation, or MoR for short, would probably come with a slowed stride, and aiming the face either down to the feet or up to the sky. With the mouth wide open.

    That might possibly be the case. In that case, I shall dub this the MPtMoR: Moment Prior to Moment of Realisation. If you note the incline of the head, it can be deduced that the female child is just beginning to turn her head...
