I think some cases abortion should take precedence while others it shouldn't be take into consideration. I am Pro-Life but I do think that some people should be given the choice. So if I someone close to me got pregnant, I would want her to have the kid but I could care less about people I don't know. Cases that deal with abortion can vary quite a bit so I think there should be a distinction whether abortion should take a higher precedence as a solution.

Sort of like if a girl gets pregnant. Her solution changes quite a bit depending on her circumstances.

Girl gets into car crash. 4 months in her pregnancy. She needs meds to survive and the meds will kill the baby.I would have to say give her the meds even though there's a real small chance that both could survive if she doesn't get them.

Girl has boyfriend. She gets pregnant at 20. She's starting her life and a baby at this age may be a hindrance to her college education etc. At this point I would be opposed to abortion.

The first example would be one exception to my "Never get an abortion" stance.

I on the other hand don't believe in exceptions. It was my motto in high school and I'm sticking with it.

It also strikes a nerve with me when someone says "She had sex, she got pregnant, now she has to face the consequences of having the child." When a person says this, they are making giving birth to a child into a punishment. It is the worst argument of all the arguments I’ve seen here. (I’m not saying that you are using it cor. I’m just saying that I have seen it used here.) I'm not saying that person shouldn't fully understand the consequences of their actions, but giving birth to a child shouldn't be a punishment.

Ah quite. I hate it when people use that argument as well. Babies should be blessings. Sure you could say that a baby could be an accident but they should bring the child into the world with happiness. Most of the time, whenever there are arguments like these, we forget that it is in fact a live human being we may be dealing with. Everyone needs someone to love them. So is the baby better off dead than being brought into a world where he is viewed as divine punishment?

And yes the Mothers rights to her own body do supersede the right to another personís right to live. I've already made that argument. a few pages ago.

In the case of rape, though, the person does not have the right to violate someone else. A baby, though, HAS to grow within the mother. They have no choice. If a person chooses to rape, they must face the consequences, such as death, that come from someone protecting themselves, but a baby does not choose to live and therefore should not be held responsible for "violating" the mother's body.

If I was raped, I wouldn't want the result of that rape to haunt me for 9 months of my life while the fetus grew inside of me. Rape victims scrub themselves with alcohol and abrasive materials to "get the rapist off of me". This is like asking a woman to keep the filthy sperm and the product of it inside of her for 9 months of her life. I would NEVER ask anyone to do that. It's cruel. Don't you have any sympathy for the survivor?

But abortion is legal and a womans rights trumps that of an unborn child.

As much as I agree with your point erachima, please don't use that tone. I don't want this to degrade. It's a pretty sensitive subject and stuff.

Can you please talk to Serenity using some amount of respect? She did nothing to insult you, why should you insult her?
