that serves as no help whatsoever. it meets none of the requirements. and that amount of space is necessary--i have a filled 40GB ipod already (most of it of which i know for a fact is good--i couldn't function with only 6GB of music...how do you need so LITTLE space?) so my new device should be that size or bigger (preferably bigger; i want to add about 5 more gigs of music). i'm looking for devices that play video so i want to reserve the other 10 for video (as you well know it takes up a lot of space).

anyway, i hear creative products are pretty dependable and i know they are quite nifty, hence why i am lusting after the vision:m (but as i said, it only goes up to 30GB).

the 5th gen is the photo?

i'm having problems with my 40GB 4th gen so i'm not entirely sure if i should continue along the apple route...

i suppose the advantages of my ipod outweigh the disadvantages, but i'm sure there are some products available that address the problems/gripes i have with it (unfortunately the only ones i've found were *sigh* max 30GB).

    Shit. I'm moving there. I paid $100 for a 1GB MP3 player, and it's almost $200 for an iPod.

Or maybe the prices just really suck over here.

How good is the quality of video on an iPod? I mean, I'm sure it's not as good as a TV, but can you watch anime on there and it doesn't look weird? Can you read subtitles? o_o

No, the prices of apple products are just overpriced. But they got the hype so they sell anyway. It also doesn't hurt that are just damn good, but still overhyped.

get an iPod video. they are a lot better than the 4th generation one that you have, and work perfectly, as long as you treat them right, and use them correctly.
oh, and if you guys are having trouble with itunes and your ipod, pm me with the problems that you are having, and i can solve them in about 5 sec.
for a simple fast-working solution, just change the iPod uploader/manager to MANUAL instead of AUTO. there are preferences for that in iTunes. try it. then all you have to do is drag your songs from your iTunes library into the iPod library.
@DE- yes, you can watch anime on it. the quality on those small screens is surprisingly good, for the size. it's an LCD screen, so it's good. and yes, you can read subtitles. they just cannot be small type, or it's just too small to read.

Heh, my cousin's dad works at Apple, so I've got connections.
    Still hate Apple, though.

I guess if you had to have video on it (gimmicky), then a bigger size would be neccessary. But 6BG is plenty if your choosy about your music. I can't believe that you have 40GB of music and never go scrolling through it all thinking about various tracks "now that's not very good... why is it even there? I want to hear something else, which isn't on here... if only I got rid of these shitty tracks, I'd have heaps more room for decent music"

But then, I guess I have no idea of your taste

hmmm i go through from time to time and delete some stuff to clear room for others, but generally i don't find that things are so bad that i must remove them from my ipod. and for a lock on my music taste you could go to my "personal homepage" and check the music section. the video playing function might be a bit of a gimmick, but i hear it works well. also, it's no gimmick if the device you're buying is a pvp, obviously. haha
